For those with ulnar or radial drift, the orthosis has a below-the-wrist swivel that allows lateral and medial positioning of the wrist. The swivel helps with ulnar/radial deviation, but can also be used for people with arthritis, stroke complications, and upper extremity weakness. The fourth strap helps keep fingers in the desired position. With multi-layers for added softness, the hand orthosis is ideal for gradual extension of non-fixed wrist, hand, or finger flexion. Being easy to custom fit, the orthosis does not need tools or heat guns to mold to the user. The covers are washable and absorbent while the straps help prevent skin breakdown. The orthosis comes with side wings that help prevent ulnar/radial deviation. The straps accommodate slight fluctuations in edema and fragile skin. The orthosis comes with a removable splint insert that can be cleaned with warm water and soap. With not stretching the Thenar Eminence, the orthosis resists strong Flexion Synergy as well.
